Few woods are as attractive to me as walnut. The wood is hard and strong, similar to oak, of which these woods are a not too distant relative. It is sublime for making furniture, also because of its beauty.

The target was to make two closets of knee height from walnut. I made a design and got to work. It took me many months, because of a lack of time and some fortunate mistakes that had me learn a lot. My main problem was getting the top and bottom planks straight, so eventually I had to ask the help of professionals that had a planer of sufficient size. I accidentaly damaged the bottom plates, so I decided to mask it with epoxy rivers, which turned out really well.

Most of the joints are simply glued with a polyurethane glue. Modern wood glues are amazing.

I got a lot of help from other makers, which was a blessing. Another blessing was the end result. I’m proud.
