SensePeek makes lovely PCBite things that hold a PCB during soldering or testing. Unfortunately, as pretty much every review will tell you, they are a bit high. Which is great when you want to see the reflections off the bottom of the PCB during testing (their pads are reflective). But not so great when you are using a microscope when dealing with SMD.

So as a quick project – lets make some low profile ones from a bit of scrap (we’re next door to a Kringloop – and they had some very thick aluminium tent pegs that where just right).

Machines used: Metal lathe, lots of drills, the new metal saw, the metal band sander and the calibers.
