But because I had the feeling that I am a bit clumsy making things, I never started with such a large project. Until two months ago I became a member of Makerspace Leiden. The machines that I can use here make everything a little easier and the problem of my clumsiness has become smaller.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_hoverbox image=”689″ primary_title=”” hover_title=”CNC machine”]I used the big CNC machine to create the left- and the right side of the Arcade machine. A benefit is that each side is exactly the same.[/vc_hoverbox][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]
I designed the entire Arcade machine myself, from begin to end. I started making a drawing in Fusion 360, which I adjusted (many times) until I had a result on my screen that I was satisfied with. I bought the straight boards at Hornbach, cut to right size and with the large CNC machine from Makerspace Leiden I have now created two sideboards, a console board with holes and a monitor frame. The monitor frame fits to the millimeter and has a small recess in the lower right where the push buttons of the monitor are recessed. The result is exactly as I designed. After that I made slots in the sides with a router in which a T-molding (bumper) goes.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]
In my imagination this Arcade machine looks super cool down to the smallest detail. Now it is a matter of turning everything in my imagination into reality. Detail is the magic word in this design. I think I have thought of everything, from bumper to external network and USB connections on the back.

It consists of two joysticks and twelve buttons.
